| When moving from a
single family environment into a multi-family community there
is sometimes a feeling of loss of status. By making sure that
all the comforts of their previous home are available, like
in-unit laundry, senior residents are made more comfortable with the
transition. |
 |
Today's senior demand a higher quality residence with the comforts
and conveniences of traditional single family homes they left behind.
Residents are happier with the control and convenience of having
laundry in their own residence.
Carrying laundry back and forth between the senior's residence
and a shared laundry facility isn't just inconvenient, it
can also be unsafe. Diminished physical coordination is a fact of
aging. Stairwells and hallways are no places for carrying laundry
baskets that can obscure vision and cause balance problems..
One of the biggest concerns in any senior housing facility is sanitation.
Health concerns are primary. Shared laundry facilities may prove
to be breeding grounds for infectious or contagious diseases and
ailments. Seniors also often have personal health issues, which
for privacy and dignity concerns, they may not wish to display in
public shared laundry rooms. With the ASKO and LG brands we take
this sanitation one step further with front-loading washers that
have internal water heaters. This brings the hot water wash up to
a true sanitizing temperature and kills viruses and bacteria.
With
our combination washer/dryers residents put in their laundry, leave
for activities, then come back to clean dry clothes. This is also
a blessing for ADA concerns. Clothes go in dry and come out dry
with no loading or unloading of heavy wet fabrics. All front controls,
with optional push button controls, makes ADA compliance simple.
We can help you design a program for retrofitting existing units
or for putting more compact and energy efficient laundry in your
new properties.
